Southside Speed Showcase

LSPD Proposal - Presented by The Rusty Garage

Southside Speed Showcase

An official Los Santos event uniting the automotive community for a day of celebration, competition, and connection.

Event Overview

Car Showcase at Vespucci Beachfront

Phase 1: The Car Showcase

Timing: Approximately 30 Minutes

Venue: Vespucci Beachfront

Description: The event commences with a static car meet and show, open to the public. Participants will display their vehicles, and attendees can vote for their favorites. The Rusty Garage will personally fund and provide cash prizes for the top three voted vehicles, encouraging a high standard of creativity and craftsmanship. This portion serves as a community gathering.

Sanctioned Street Race Circuit

Phase 2: The Sanctioned Street Race

Timing: Approximately 15-20 Minutes

Location: South Side Area

Description: This is the core of the proposal, requiring LSPD partnership for official approval and support of a short, sanctioned street race for willing participants from the car show. The vision is a professionally managed circuit race, not a chaotic free-for-all.

Safety & Control: We require LSPD assistance in temporarily cordoning off the designated route. Pre-registration for all racers, mandatory safety tech inspections (tires, brakes, etc.), and a drivers' briefing are integral to our plan. All participants will sign a liability waiver acknowledging inherent risks, as the race would be "full contact" to provide an authentic, high-skill driving experience.

Duration: The race itself would be brief, lasting about 15 minutes from start to finish. With LSPD sanctioning, we aim for a swift, contained event that respects the city's ongoing traffic flow.

Community Cool-Down at The Rusty Garage

Phase 3: The Community Cool-Down

Venue: The Rusty Garage, Popular Street

Description: Following the race, we will host a cool-down rally. This celebration will be open to everyone, including race participants, car show attendees, and the general public. We will provide free food and drinks for racers (discounted for others), live music, and our mechanics will offer free basic repairs for any race participants who need them.

Why This is a Win for the City and the LSPD

We all know that unsanctioned and dangerous street racing is a persistent issue. This event offers a crucial pressure-release valve. It is an opportunity to build bridges, open a dialogue, and demonstrate that the car community is willing and eager to work with the LSPD to create something positive for everyone. We are prepared to handle the logistics of registration, prize funding, and the after-party. Our primary request is for your partnership in sanctioning the race portion and providing a visible LSPD presence to ensure the integrity and safety of the event.

"This is a chance to build bridges, open a dialogue, and show that the car community is willing and eager to work with the LSPD to create something positive for everyone."

Conclusion

Thank you for your time and consideration. I am confident that with your cooperation, we can make this a landmark event for Los Santos. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you in person to discuss this proposal in further detail.

Respectfully,

Richard (Dick) Hardigain
